Private dinner at Public NY...
This Saturday night, fresh off the plan from LA, I was whisked away to a night out on the town in downtown NY. Private party avec John Krasinski, Kate Beckinsale, Christian Slater, Matt Dillon...
So, I'm just off the plane from LA and it's nearing 7pm and I'm thinking comfy night in maybe a lil TV and an early-ish night since the flight was not such a good one to nap on. Nope... Instead, I get a call which sends me rushing my car from JFK to get to my apartment and change in literally 5 min (toss the hair around a bit- o man...) then step out into the cold streets of NY in the nearest pair of heels I could pull from my case, madly grab a cab, pick up my friend, get yelled at by the cab driver because apparently I was supposed to tell him that I wanted to make 2 stops (oops- he wasn't very happy and proceeded to fully let me have it) and finally make it to a restaurant called Public on the opposite side of town for a dinner which was planned for 7:30. We were only about 30 min late which considering I had JUST landed was pretty darn good. And... it was def worth all the rushing because I had such a good time. It was much better than staying in that's for sure. Dinner was AMAZING and the company was even better... John Krasinski is so cute (he's got that geek/chic/ funny gentleman thing about him) and Kate Beckinsale is extremely sweet (her daughter's name is Lily so we had a lil somthing in common). The British stars of the new Narnia film were also there (very nice and fashionable). We ended up leaving just before Madonna, Julia Roberts, and Demi and Ashton were supposed to come but it was getting late and to say that I was exhausted would be to say the very least. I was socialized out... After all, I had to prepare myself for the coming days when I would be attending one of the most exciting social events of my life- the MET Ball!

That was so refreshing to read.. (blog: march 27th).. I believe it to be completely true.. I make sure to keep an active conversation going with my folks. It's amazing how easy it is to bridge that 'huge-little' gap between our generations if you genuinely take the time to try..

I've had a few different occasions where friends and I would end up discussing how our current 'day-in-age' lacks true role models.. Who do we admire these days? Just got me thinking for awhile..

You have such a wonderful soul, Lily. This is an amazing idea and my hope is that everyone will realize what a gift this blog really is.. You have created a safe and intelligent environment for any generation to speak its truthful mind.. And that, IS worth writing for..

Lily Collins is studying broadcast journalism at USC, is set to appear in interstitial programming spots airing throughout the day and night on Nickelodeon, reporting from the sets of Nick series, movie premieres, awards shows, concerts and other celebrity events. She also will host daily 30-second updates centered on current music, movie, fashion and celebrity news and join current host J Boogie to contribute reports to the weekend TEENick block.

This marks the first time that Nickelodeon has inked a deal for a roving entertainment correspondent.

"Lily is a natural in front of the camera," Nickelodeon executive vp talent Paula Kaplan said. "She can think on her feet and is comfortable interviewing a wide range of people. As a rising young star herself, she's totally plugged into the latest entertainment and pop culture trends."
