A Madhatters lunch with Stella McCartney...

On Wednesday I attended an Alice and Wonderland style lunch in honor of Stella McCartney and the launch of her new collection.
Neiman Marcus hosted the special Madhatters themed lunch for Stella McCartney and it was one heck of an event. They decked out the entire middle of the 2nd floor including a full on topiary maze that we had to find our way through in order to reach the middle where there was a long table piled high with toys and mixed and matched teacups and china. There was a croquet area where models showed off the newest collection while taking part in the game. Everyone was wearing unique and silly hats and there was even pieces of what looked like a set from the movie. Nick-Nacs lined the maze and everything was incredibly detailed on the table. Scrabble tiles were used as place settings and there were little decorated cakes and nibbles on cake trays. Etch a Sketches, yo-yos, and various child games were all over the table and everyone (no matter how old) played with them. It was so entertaining to watch. The luncheon was also interesting because women of all ages were sitting and chatting to one another and because everyone was there with a common purpose, everyone had something to discuss and could branch off into over conversations from there. Stella was the most lovely lady and Quincy Jones even came out with his daughter to support her. If I was to throw a party, I would so get the department at Neimans to design it. I couldn't believe how much work went into the look of the lunch and the food was delicious. Stella's new collection is AMAZING- very youthful and fun yet chic!- just her area of expertise!! Definitely check it out.

That was so refreshing to read.. (blog: march 27th).. I believe it to be completely true.. I make sure to keep an active conversation going with my folks. It's amazing how easy it is to bridge that 'huge-little' gap between our generations if you genuinely take the time to try..

I've had a few different occasions where friends and I would end up discussing how our current 'day-in-age' lacks true role models.. Who do we admire these days? Just got me thinking for awhile..

You have such a wonderful soul, Lily. This is an amazing idea and my hope is that everyone will realize what a gift this blog really is.. You have created a safe and intelligent environment for any generation to speak its truthful mind.. And that, IS worth writing for..

Lily Collins is studying broadcast journalism at USC, is set to appear in interstitial programming spots airing throughout the day and night on Nickelodeon, reporting from the sets of Nick series, movie premieres, awards shows, concerts and other celebrity events. She also will host daily 30-second updates centered on current music, movie, fashion and celebrity news and join current host J Boogie to contribute reports to the weekend TEENick block.

This marks the first time that Nickelodeon has inked a deal for a roving entertainment correspondent.

"Lily is a natural in front of the camera," Nickelodeon executive vp talent Paula Kaplan said. "She can think on her feet and is comfortable interviewing a wide range of people. As a rising young star herself, she's totally plugged into the latest entertainment and pop culture trends."
